Full Medterra Review
Medterra was founded in 2017 by Jay Hartenbach in Irvine, California and their three key concepts are Caring for Others, Continual Innovation, and CBD for All.
They are partnered with the Kentucky Industrial Hemp Research Pilot Program and are fully USDA compliant. These are the industry’s initiative programs to self regulate and commit to high standards to give customers confidence and trust in their products and to provide the highest standards possible.
Every purchase made from Medterra has a Seed-to-Sale guarantee. This means that the product is tracked through every step of the manufacturing process and every entity involved has to comply with the benchmark guidelines and regulations of local governments to protect the health and safety of consumers.
Medterra is passionate about the wellbeing of their customers. In order to ensure their continued high standards, they are continuously innovating and striving to improve with research, farming techniques and sourcing better quality ingredients.
Medterra also encourages their customers to reach out and get in-touch with them, to ask any questions or to resolve any problems.
They specializs in producing non-smokable, zero THC (which is the psychoactive compound that produces a ‘high’ effect) non-GMO, vegan and gluten-free CBD.
Medterra’s products contain one of the purest CBD oils on the market at 99.6% and are sold in CVS and 7/11 stores across the country. They also have one of the lowest costs per milligram in the country.
Medterra sources its hemp from expertly informed, science based industrial farms in Kentucky, Arizona. This is because Kentucky is famous for its mineral rich soil and climate that produces some of the best hemp crops in the world.
All the hemp is sourced from USDA compliant farms who are members of the Kentucky Department of Agriculture’s Industrial Hemp Research Pilot Program which has initiated strict guidelines and regulation for the growers to follow. All the hemp growers are monitored, regulated and licensed by the state. The hemp farmed is 100% organic, high quality, Non-GMO, vegan and gluten-free.
Medterra uses CO2 extraction, which is the preferred choice of most of the better, more established CBD companies but it is also by far the most expensive method and takes a large capital investment. CO2 extraction gives by far a better quality and cleaner CBD extract without the risk of residual solvents or chemicals.
In this extraction process the CO2 is placed under low temperatures and high pressure to produce a liquid CO2 which is then passed through the hemp to draw the CBD extract from the plant material.
Medterra has an excellent range of products available with different levels of potency. The tinctures are available at 500, 1000 and 3000mg strengths and the capsules are available in 25 or 50mg strengths.
They only have full isolate and broad spectrum products which are completely THC free. As such, Medterra’s CBD is one of the purest available on the market at 99.6% and it is both flavourless and almost tasteless.
Independent Lab Testing
Medterra uses ProVerde Laboratory for their third-party testing and have one of the most in-depth and transparent test results on the market. Medterra test for heavy metals, bacteria, microbial life, mycotoxins, pesticides, yeasts, molds and more, making it by far one of the most in-depth test available.
ProVerde is one of the most respected cannabis testing laboratories in existence. Medterra test all of their batches and products and the Certificate of Analysis is available on every product page on their website.
Their site is clean, fresh and professional looking. It is easy to navigate and find what you are looking for, even the Certificates of Analysis, which many companies like to hide, are readily available.
They have three international sites in addition to their US site, one for UK customers and one for European customers ( both in English) and a Spanish site. They also have a very informative and easy to read FAQ section and you can sign-up for their weekly newsletter.
Customer Service, Shipping & Returns
Medterra’s customer service team are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Medterra encourages their customers to contact them with any questions or problems.
Their contact information is readily available on their website and you can contact them by phone, email or snail mail, they even have a chat facility on their website.
Their customer service team is available from 6am to 5pm Monday through to Friday and 8am to 2pm on Saturdays, Pacific time.
Medterra’s shipping policy is easy to find on their website, unlike many companies I’ve reviewed who either hide it or don’t have a page available for it.
They state that most orders received before 12pm PST will be shipped the same day and that regardless all orders are shipped within 1-2 days.
It also nice to see that not only do they ship to all 50 states but also internationally, whereas most CBD companies will only ship domestically. However, they do not ship to Canada or Australia at this time.
Their standard shipping is USPS First Class, but you can upgrade to USPS Priority Mail, FedEx SmartPost, FedEx Express Saver, FedEx 2 Day or FedEx Standard Overnight. Once your order has been shipped you will receive an email with its tracking number.
Medterra has a 30-day money back guarantee on all their products but the customer is responsible for the return shipping.
This is a common practice among most CBD companies, but personally I feel that if there is something wrong with the product the customer shouldn’t have to pay for the return because in many cases this may be as much as the product cost and would therefore makes the guarantee as good as useless.
This is about the only real negative point I found about Medterra.
Medterra Discount Program
Medterra offers discount schemes for both military (active servicemen and veterans) and long term disabled customers.
For the military discount you need to supply Medterra with a photo, your military ID, and license with VA endorsement. This will allow you a discount on orders up to $250 but I couldn’t find any information on how much discount you would receive. For the long-term disability program I couldn’t find any information so you will need to contact them directly.
They also have a very generous rewards program. For every $1 you spend on their website you will receive 2 points which can be redeemed for discount on your purchases. 250 points will give you a $10 discount, 500 points $25 and 1000 $60 discount. They also have a referral scheme whereby for each new customer you introduce you will receive a $10 discount off your next order.
Medterra has a very competitive pricing policy and offers some of the best prices on the market. Their tinctures and capsules average at a cost of $0.04 to $0.08 per milligram and their topicals cost between $0.10 to $0.18 per milligram.
As well as these low costs they also offer a range of theme bundles at generous discounts, but if you can’t find a bundle that suits you, you can create your own bundle. If you bundle two items you will receive a 5% discount, bundle three items for a 15% discount and if you bundle 4 items you’ll get a whopping 20% discount.

Medterra CBD Tinctures Review
Medterra offer their islolate tincture in three strengths 500mg, 1000mg and 3000mg, in 30ml bottles giving up to 30 servings per bottle.
As an isolate it is completely THC free, 96.6% pure, odorless and almost completely tasteless. Its claim to be 100% THC free is important because some brands that claim to be THC free, in fact do contain some and this can cause problems if you have to undergo a drug test.
Medterra’s products though have been proven to live up to their claims. The only other ingredient in these is the MCT base which helps the bioavailability of the CBD.
The normal method of consumption for these is sublingually, which means under the tongue. Measure your dose using the supplied dropper and place the CBD under your tongue, hold it there for 60-90secs and then swallow.
This is one of the best and quickest methods to get both the most of the CBD in your system and to feel the most benefits of the CBD.
Medterra also has a broad-spectrum CBD which contains all the other natural compounds found in the cannabis plant except the THC. The main advantage of the broad-spectrum CBD tinctures is that you will feel the added benefits of the “Entourage Effect”.
Many users feel that this is important because the interaction of the different compounds within your body can create added benefits you would not feel with pure CBD.
In fact, the main problem of their oils can be that they are “too pure” and because of this users may feel that they are not benefitting from it whereas it may simply be due to the absence of the entourage effect.
The broad-spectrum CBD tinctures are available in two strengths, 1000mg and 2000mg and three flavours; Strawberry Mint, Citrus and unflavoured or natural.
These oils are particularly effective for pain, anxiety, stress and insomnia. However, the 500mg is more of a starter strength oil and is good for your body’s well-being and not so much for relieving any pain, whereas the stronger oils will help against mild to severe pain.
Medterra Capsules Review
Medterra has a wide range of capsules that are very popular and have a large number of great reviews and user comments across the internet.
First, there’s their regular full isolate CBD tincture capsules. These come in either 25mg or 50mg strength capsules with 30 capsules per bottle. Like the tincture oils these also have a fractionated coconut oil MCT base.
These are great for anxiety, stress and mild pain. The biggest disadvantage of these is that because they’re in capsule form they are dissolved in the stomach rather than sublingually, which means they take longer to get into the bloodstream and less of the CBD is absorbed.
Medterra Good Morning Capsules Review
These are specially formulated to help give you a boost on those more difficult mornings. Each bottle contains 700mg of CBD and 60 softgel capsules which means 25mg of CBD per capsule. The ingredients are formulated to blend together to give the best results possible and to energize you. The CBD also helps to relieve anxiety and stress.
- CBD – 25 mg/serving
- L-Tyrosine – 400 mg/serving
- L-Theanine – 200 mg/serving
- B6 – 40 mg/serving
- B12 – 500mcg/serving
- Other Ingredients: MCT Oil, Bovine Gelatin
Medterra CBD + Melotin (Sleep) Review
The CBD and Melatonin capsules are very popular and highly praised by users for their effectiveness. Each bottle contains 30 capsules with 25mg of CBD and 10mg of melatonin, which has been used to promote sleep for years.
These capsules, unlike the softgel capsules, are made to dissolve under the tongue. There are thousands of tiny blood vessels, capillaries, that absorb the melatonin directly into the bloodstream. This allows them to take effect quickly.
- Oil powder
- Dibasic Calcium Phosphate Anhydrous
- Magnesium Stearate
- Silica Dioxide
Medterra CBD Monthly Wellness Capsules Review
These have been formulated especially for women to help ease their period pains, anxiety, stress and cramps. There are 60 capsules with 25mg of CBD per capsule.
Each capsule contains valerian root which helps ease anxiety and tension, dong quai which helps cramps and PMS and chaste berry which helps ease menstrual and menopausal symptoms. The recommended dose is two capsules up to 4 times daily during your period.
- cramp bark (300mg)
- chaste berry tree (250mg)
- dong quai (150mg)
- valerian root (125mg)
- caffeine (50mg)
After much research, other than a few very minor complaints, the vast majority of users who use these pills are very pleased with the results and the benefits of them.
Conclusion: Is Medterra Legit?
I have researched and reviewed many different companies and products and Medterra are one of the best I have come across. In fact I have yet to come across something negative about them but I couldn’t find anything other than a few minor complaints about shipping times, or products arriving damaged, but these are by far in the minority and almost inevitable when shipping large numbers of packages.
Medterra have a small but specialized line of products that seem to do exactly what they say, and contain exactly what is on the label. There are, unfortunately, many CBD companies that don’t live up to users expectations but fortunately Medterra is a company you can rely on and trust.
